Liurong Temple (Temple of the Six Banyan Trees)
Liurong Temple in Guangzhou, located in Yuexiu District, is an ancient Buddhist temple with a long history and deep cultural background. Its name “Liurong Temple” means “Temple of the Six Banyan Trees”, for there used to be six Banyan Trees in the temple.
The temple was built during the Liang Dynasty and has been restored several times, now having more than 1,400 years of history. Liurong Temple covers an area of 170,000 square meters, is large in scale, and its architecture is splendid. Its representative building, the Liurong Pagoda, is one of the emblematic buildings of Guangzhou.

1.Liurong Pagoda
Liurong Pagoda is the most iconic building of Liurong Temple. Built during the Liang Dynasty and restored several times, it now has more than 1,400 years of history. The pagoda has a height of 57.6 meters and consists of 17 floors. Its appearance is octagonal on the outside and circular on the inside, making it one of the most representative buildings in Guangzhou. Climbing to the top of the pagoda allows visitors to take in the scenery of the entire city of Guangzhou.
2.Temple Gardens
The gardens of Liurong Temple are also very beautiful. Visitors can stroll along tree-shaded paths, admiring ancient banyan trees, artificial rocks and ponds. The highlights are the temple's ornamental stones and bonsai trees, which have been carefully sculpted and cultivated in various shapes, offering a spectacle that captivates visitors.
