Three Gorges Museum
The Three Gorges Museum, occupying an area of 42,497 square meters, is a museum in Yuzhong District of Chongqing City. It is located near People's Square and the Great Hall of the People, also known as the Chongqing Museum. There are displays of Chinese art and artifacts saved from the construction of the Three Gorges Dam and the artificial lake. Significantly, it was the first major museum with the title "China" in its name outside of Beijing, which was established by the State Council Office of the People's Republic of China.
