Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak, also known as Mount Austin, is located in the western half of Hong Kong Island. With an altitude of 552 meters, it is the highest mountain on the island. Victoria Peak offers spectacular views over central Hong Kong, Victoria Harbour, and the surrounding islands.

As a must-visit Hong Kong destination, both day and night, it offers iconic views of skyscraper-lined Victoria Harbour, the Kowloon Peninsula and rugged mountain peaks. Hong Kong's Peak Tram entered service in 1888 as Asia's first funicular railway, connecting The Peak with Central. It originally served guests of the luxurious hilltop hotel, but has later carried tens of millions of passengers and become one of Hong Kong's main tourist attractions. The steep 1.27 km journey, which rises from 28 to 396 meters above sea level, with a gradient of 4 to 25.7 degrees, typically takes about 10 minutes and offers passengers spectacular views and photo opportunities.

The Peak Tower incorporates the upper station of the Peak Tram, the funicular that takes passengers to St. John's Cathedral in the central district of Hong Kong, while the Summit Gallery incorporates the bus station used by buses Hong Kong public buses and the green minibuses at the summit. The summit is also accessible by taxi and private car via the winding summit road, or by walking the steep, ancient summit road and nearby there is a botanical garden and a zoo. The Peak Tower's distinctive wok-shaped design is very distinctive. The building, located above the upper terminal of the Peak tram, houses a wide variety of restaurants, specialty shops, interactive entertainment venues and, above all, the famous Sky Terrace 428, a viewing point 428 meters above sea level that offers Stunning 360 degree views of the city. The mall is also home to the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong wax museum and a number of shops serving refreshments such as local-style egg waffles.

When purchasing the ticket for the funicular, you can also purchase the SkyPass, which includes access to the Victoria Peak observation deck. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city, its harbor and Hong Kong's iconic skyscrapers. Additionally, there are several hiking trails around Victoria Peak that allow you to explore nature and enjoy even more spectacular views.
